Provincial leagues ready to resume

Sports Reporter
THE Zimbabwe Volleyball Association (ZVA) says its provincial leagues are getting ready to start league action following the long Covid-19 enforced break stretching back to April last year.

ZVA communications officer Dave Simba said they are working to ensure a safe return to the court for the players and everyone involved in the game.

“Our provincial leagues are now preparing for the resumption of competitions. Testing and administrative stuff are being put in place before training starts. We are going to announce dates for the Zimbabwe Open soon. That will mark the start of our activities,” said Simba.

The Zimbabwe Open sets the tone for the season’s national league and has in the past attracted schools, tertiary institutions and teams from neighbouring countries.

The ZVA is placing emphasis on growing its brand this season to make the game popular and attract a larger following.
