PSL back after two-week hiatus

AFTER a two-week sabbatical to accommodate the Warriors’ 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers, the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League returns on Saturday.

The postponement of the Cosafa Men’s Championship resulted in the rescheduling of the league action a week earlier than planned.

With 237 goals scored in the 14 league matches played before the break, excitement has reached fever pitch. Highlanders’ Lynoth Chikuhwa leads the top goal scorers’ chart with seven goals.

Chikuhwa will spearhead the Bosso attack against Bikita Minerals, hoping to help them bounce back from a disappointing May performance which saw them posting four draws and a defeat.

Bosso coach Kelvin Kaindu will hope to see his charges rediscover their early season promise at a time when league action has reached fever pitch.
Chicken Inn welcome back goalkeeper Donovan Bernard following a fruitless South Africa trip with the Warriors. Bernard was in South Africa with

Bosso’s Andrew Mbeba, Geoffrey Chitsumba of Manica Diamonds, Walter Musona and Tymon Machope (both Simba Bhora), Godknows Murwira of CAPS United and Richard Hachiro as part of the local based players who made the trip to South Africa.

In other matches, FC Platinum will face off against struggling Bulawayo Chiefs, Simba Bhora will host inconsistent Arenel Movers, Manica Diamonds will play Yadah Stars, Dynamos will take on ZPC Kariba, and newcomers TelOne will battle it out against CAPS United.

Bosso’s city neighbours Chicken Inn are set to travel to Mhondoro for their date against defending league champions Ngezi Platinum Stars at Baobab Stadium on Saturday.

Jairos Tapera will lead Manica Diamonds when they meet Yadah Stars at Heart Stadium.
