PSL games continue

BULAWAYO football giants, Highlanders, are this afternoon bracing to face CAPS United in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL Matchday 23) encounter at Rufaro Stadium.

The clash, which kicks off at 3 PM, may not have major implications for the title race, with both teams sitting mid-table and separated by just three points. However, bragging rights and momentum are firmly at stake.

CAPS United will be hoping to bounce back from their midweek loss to Ngezi Platinum and continue their revival under coach Ian Bakala.

Highlanders, currently in ninth place, have also endured an inconsistent campaign and will be eager to claim maximum points to improve their 28-point tally and climb the standings.

The match will be broadcast live on ZTN Prime and streamed on Zimpapers TV Network’s digital platforms. Fans who cannot make it to Rufaro Stadium can catch all the action from 3 PM local time.

CAPS United’s Ian Bakala said “It’s a big game for both teams and we want to win it because it has been a long time since Highlanders dominated us. A victory will also be good for us since we want to move up the table.”

His opposite number Highlanders’ Try Ncube reckoned: “The mood in the camp is good. The boys are raring to go. We are also fighting for our reputation. We are aware that there are no easy games, so the CAPS game is no exception. Having said that, we are geared up to fight and get a good result.”
