HOW Mine’s top marksman Kuda Musharu is set to smile all the way to bank after being named the best Castle Lager Premier Soccer League player for two consecutive months. The league announced the outstanding player and coach monthly award winners for April, May and June and each one of them will get $500 for their efforts.

Musharu, who started the season on fire, was voted as the best player for the months of April and May which means that he will pocket $1,000 for his efforts while his coach Philani “Beefy” Ncube won the Coach of the Month accolade for May.

“I want to thank my teammates, the technical team, management and above all God for this honour of being recognised as the player of the month twice. This really means a lot for me and couldn’t have come any time better than this when goals have shied away from me.

Hopefully this award will push even my teammates to work harder so that we reclaim the form that got me this accolade,” said Musharu.

The How Mine striker has scored eight Premiership goals. These were from the opening nine games of the season which added to six netted in the Confederation Cup.

Highlanders’ striker Charles Sibanda who is the Premiership leading scorer with 10 goals which helped his team to be at the top of the table, won the June Player of the Month prize and promised to continue working hard.

“Everything boils down to teamwork and hard work. I dedicate this award to the Highlanders family, that is supporters who were patient when the goals were not there, the players, technical team and management. Hopefully we will be able as Bosso to celebrate more when the season ends with more trophies and prizes,” said Sibanda.

Hwange’s Nation Dube whose side fought against relegation last year and surprised many this season by being early pacesetters, putting up a strong challenge in the championship race, was voted the best gaffer for April.

Taurai Mangwiro of Caps United who managed to get the Green Machine to the position of being title favourites for the league is the Coach of the Month for June.

It has been a good start for the Southern Region.
