PUBLIC Service Commission (PSC) chairman Dr Vincent Hungwe is set to deliver a public lecture at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) on Monday, focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship as Zimbabwe prepares for a digital future.
Dr Hungwe will deliver the lecture, titled “From Mindset to Market: Cultivating the Innovator-Entrepreneur for Zimbabwe’s Digital Future,” at the Prof Phinias Makhurane Technovation Centre at the university’s Bulawayo campus.
According to the organisers, the engagement is part of a series of public lectures being conducted at institutions of higher learning to strengthen relations between the Commission and universities.
The initiative is also intended to raise awareness among students about the role of the PSC and provide guidance to those who may pursue careers in the public service.
The engagement comes as universities increasingly place emphasis on innovation, entrepreneurship and the development of skills suited to a rapidly changing digital economy.
Organisers said the lecture would provide an opportunity for students to gain an understanding of the Commission’s mandate while also engaging with issues surrounding innovation and entrepreneurship.
Dr Hungwe’s lecture at NUST is expected to bring together students and members of the university community for discussions around developing an entrepreneurial mindset and translating innovative ideas into marketable ventures.
