SOME of the O-Level students at a school in Chitungwiza were delayed from sitting for their examinations yesterday over outstanding fees.

The St Mary’s High School students, who were yet to settle their fees, were only allowed to sit for their Mathematics exams, almost ten minutes after the exams had started.

School headmaster, Bright Nyabako, said they never delayed any students from sitting for their exams.

“A number of parents and guardians are yet to pay school fees for the learners who sat for the O-Level examinations.

“Today (yesterday) we did not turn away or delay any learner over unpaid fees as is being reported.

“We have been vocal about the fees before the examinations started,” said Nyabako. Some parents and guardians said their kids experienced emotional abuse ahead of the Mathematics and English exams they sat for.
