THE Pusheka Girl Organisation yesterday hosted a business shower aimed at women entrepreneurs to boost their businesses as well as gain momentum.
The business shower took place at the Large City Hall Car Park with various businesspeople setting up their stalls to exhibit and sell their products.
A business shower is an occasion where people come together to celebrate a new business or company, support, motivate and share business ideas.
Pusheka’s communications officer Ms Lungile Ngwenya said they host business showers three times a year and this one is their 6th edition.
“We invited different people who have businesses to come and exhibit their products. They are more than 35 business stalls today (yesterday) and they are selling different products like food, clothes and perfumes,’’ she said.
Ms Ngwenya said the aim of the business shower was to empower small businesses in Bulawayo by allowing them to showcase their wares.
“Our aim is to provide networking opportunities for businesspeople where they get to meet new clients and businesspeople,’’ she said.
She said as Pusheka they try and ensure that people who benefit the most are women so that they are able to thrive and be independent.
“We aim at empowering young women and the girl child so that they are able to make a living out of their businesses, expand their territories as we would have offered them a place to market themselves and thrive,’’ she said.
Ms Ngwenya said all those showcasing their businesses have paid for stalls at reasonable prices and that business showers were all about collaboration and communication. She said a lot of clients show support and that support gets shared among various business owners that are present.
