ZIM dancehall artist, Qounfuzed, has been exploring the effects of dealing with a combination of heartbreak and hustling.
The artist explored this theme on his new song, titled Mhepo, featuring Shashl.
Qounfuzed said: “Mhepo is a heartbreak song which has a double intent meaning to it, with both the metaphor and the literal meaning, it applies to different heartbreak situations, including the death of a loved one,” he said.
“So, instead of listening to people who tell you to go to the gym and ‘look after yourself’, I recommend you find good music and listen to it.
“When I wrote the song, I was just trying to express the emotions of people out there who have been in similar situations and positions in life.
“Mhepo was composed by myself and Shashl but part of the lyrics were – written by Baron Mkweza, who is also one of the producers of the song, and UK-based producer Charlie Kay did the mixing and mastering of the song.”
Qounfuzed believes he struck the right chords.
“The difference between this song and other songs is that it had a lot of hands on both the composition and the production.
“A total of four artists combined to work on this production and also the yet-to-be released video took less than a week in recording and shooting,” he said.
The instrumental was done in Zimbabwe but the production was done in the UK.
