QUEENS PARK and Bulawayo Central are neck and neck in the ZRP Bulawayo province inter station football league heading into the last four weeks of the season with the two stations separated by a single point.
The two stations seem to be the kings of the league, popularly known as the “La Liga”, in the police force, having claimed the first two positions last season and this time around Queens Park seem eager to be crowned champions at the expense of 2016 champions Bulawayo Central.
Queens Park are on top of the standings with 57 points while Bulawayo Central are on 56 points. In third place is Nkulumane which has 49 points.
On Wednesday, Queens Park hammered Magwegwe 4-1 while Bulawayo Central showed little respect for the Police headquarters, beating them 2-1.
The Bulawayo Central strikeforce, however, has been more potent scoring 73 goals to date and have the league’s leading goalscorer, Mandla Ngwenya who has 28 goals while Western Commonage’s Bestian Mukono Jr is on 21 goals.
