Railstars certain of championship

THE curtain comes down on the Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Darts Association League championship tonight with Railstars almost certain to be crowned champions if they beat Highlanders in their final fixture. Railstars go into tonight’s match sitting on 22 points from 23 matches, two points ahead of defending champions Archers, who have a game in hand and a feint mathematical chance of pipping the railmen to the title if they fall to Bosso.

It, however, doesn’t look like Railstars will let up on the closing day, having led the league table for the better part of the season.

Railstars beat How Mine 27-12 last week, while Highlanders lost 13-26 to Support Unit Fairbridge, and on present form, Bosso have no chance of troubling the railmen.

Railstars player Ndabezinhle Ngwenya said they would be going all out for victory tonight and are not taking Bosso lightly.

“We want victory although we know Highlanders won’t just hand it to us. We don’t want to give Archers any glimmer of hope,” said Ngwenya confidently.

Archers take on ZRP Bulawayo, while How Mine play against Parkview Lions and Parkview Kanka take on Zimbabwe School of Mines. Maison Nic sealed a third place finish after their final game last week.
