Rain, cold weather forecast

THE Meteorological Service Department (MSD) says the country will from tomorrow experience light rains and low temperatures.

In a statement, the department said moist air was expected to enter southern and western parts of Zimbabwe from Botswana. “Some relatively moist air is forecast to enter southern and western Zimbabwe from Botswana by Wednesday 25 May. Intermittent light rain is forecast to occur across Zimbabwe as the band of moist air from Botswana continues moving eastwards into most provinces.

“At the same time, some pressure rises along the south-east coast of South Africa should also result in cloudy, cool and drizzly weather affecting the southern provinces of Zimbabwe on Thursday 26 May,” read the statement.

The MSD said erratic rains were likely to continue up to Saturday.

“There are chances of some intermittent rain and drizzle to continue from 26 to 28 May,” said MSD.

“Frosty weather with subdued temperatures rapidly falling towards evenings and into the early hours of the morning. Cloudy, cold and windy weather in Matabeleland South province, Bulawayo metropolitan, Masvingo province, south of Midlands province, Mashonaland East as well as Manicaland provinces.

“Mostly partly cloudy though occasionally cloudy and windy in all Mashonaland provinces, Harare Metropolitan, north of Midlands province as well as Matabeleland North province,” read the statement
