RISING Zimbabwean female footballer Nyasha Bako could be on her way to stardom after winning passionate praise from the Paris Saint Germain Academy UK in England.

The 14-year-old Chisipite School Form Two learner trained with the powerhouse academy during their Easter training camp at Hopwood Hall in Manchester, England, a fortnight ago.

Bako, who is sister to motocross ace Emmanuel, was accompanied in England by her father Brighton, who was also surprised with the talent displayed by his daughter.

There have been several inquiries for Nyasha Bako who exhibited incredible athleticism during the PSG Academy UK Easter training camp.

And PSG Academy UK, in their review, noted some interesting traits which can be nurtured in Nyasha Bako.

“Nyasha started off the week and continued throughout the week to show how fantastic she is both on and off the pitch. Her attention to detail when working on drills and skills was perfect.

“Throughout the week she remained a great player to coach and developed well through a range of aspects of the game. By the end of the week Nyasha definitely became more confident with the other players and really got involved,” noted PSG Academy UK coach Jamie Kessebeh.

“Nyasha’s short passing was excellent throughout all the drills. Her reading of the game was excellent and she made some really good defensive decisions such as interceptions and great clearances.”

Kessebeh noted that Nyasha Bako has some areas which she still needs to work on going forward.

“There are only a few areas which we feel would improve Nyasha’s game. These are; attacking in 11 versus 11 situations and the use of her skills to aid her. If she could work on increasing her speed when dribbling into space her whole game would improve dramatically.

“Overall, it was a pleasure to have Nyasha at the camp and we do hope to see her again and again.

“She was switched on, on and off the pitch and used her skills well to play with many others on the pitch. She is a master when it comes to performing tasks and she is always willing to learn more.”

Nyasha Bako is inspired by her aunt Lilian Masase who has seen action with the Mighty Warriors.

Masase is also mother to Munyaradzi and Junior Bako who are making waves in motocross in the UK.

The training sessions are devised by the club’s technical staff and follow the Paris Saint Germain playing philosophy, while adapting to the level of each child.

The Paris Saint-Germain Academy is present in 15 countries, with more than 130 permanent centres. More than 22 500 children participate in Academy activities this season, supervised by nearly 400 coaches trained by the club.
