PROSPECTIVE real investors and stakeholders alike are set to deliberate on sector opportunities with special focus on real estate investment trusts (REITs) as a lucrative investment channel to unlock value.

Currently, Zimbabwe has one listed REIT on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE), which is the Tigere REIT.

The exchange has indicated a pipeline of other REITs set to list on both the ZSE and the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX) soon.

Deliberations will take place at the Property Investment and Management Masterclass from July 27 to 29, 2023 in Nyanga.

The event, organised by Global Renaissance Investments (GRI), aims to equip attendees with the knowledge, tools, and strategies needed to excel in the competitive world of real estate.

The seminar will feature a line-up of renowned industry professionals and experts, including the Insurance and Pension Commission (IPEC) Commissioner Dr Grace Muradzikwa, former Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe president Mr Alexander Million, and actuary Mr Tapiwa Maswera among others, who will share their expertise and experiences through a series of interactive sessions and workshops.

“This event is for anyone who wants to learn how to make money in property,” said event organizer and GRI chief executive Ngoni Dzirutwe.

“Whether you are just starting out or you’re looking to take your investing to the next level, you will learn something valuable at this event,”

He indicated that the masterclass also seeks to educate property investors on the upsides of the REITs and how investors can maximise on property returns.

“Property markets are often known as the highest yield investments as compared to other investment opportunities. Hence this event seeks to promote property investment and management and ultimately make it affordable to the populace,” he added.

Mr Dzirutwe said GRI’s goal in hosting this prestigious event is to create a platform where individuals can enhance their understanding of real estate investing while building a strong network within the industry.

He added that participants can look forward to gaining valuable knowledge on various aspects of real estate investment, including property analysis, investment strategies, market trends, and legal considerations.

“Participants will have the chance to learn from the best in the field, as these industry experts will provide practical advice, case studies, and insider tips to help attendees navigate the complexities of the real estate market.

“The event will focus on empowering participants to make informed investment decisions and maximize their potential returns,” said Dzirutwe.

In addition to the educational sessions, the Property Masterclass event will also provide ample networking opportunities, allowing attendees to connect with like-minded individuals, industry professionals, and potential business partners.

This will enable participants to expand their professional network and explore potential collaborations, creating a platform for growth in the real estate industry.

Participants are expected to learn the art of investing in property markets such as new smart cities, offshore and existing local markets.

The event will be attended by officials from pension funds, insurance companies, bankers, property managers, and financial advisors among others.
