KYLIAN MBAPPE has been handed a brand new shirt number by Real Madrid.
The French star joined Los Blancos on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain after his contract expired.
Mbappe, 25, will be keen to hit the ground running in Spain after a frustrating Euro 2024.
The forward only managed one goal in the tournament as France was knocked out by the Spanish in the semi-finals.
He will now link up with his new side after his holidays ahead of the 2024/25 La Liga season.
Mbappe will have a new look, though, as he has been handed the number nine shirt.
He has never been given the shirt number before having worn the 11 and 29 jerseys at AS Monaco.
At PSG, he had multiple squad numbers such as the number seven, 17, 14 and 29.
For France, Mbappe has worn the number 10 shirt since 2017 having previously had the number 12 and 20.
There are five other squad number changes at Real Madrid ahead of the new campaign.
Eduardo Camavinga has been handed the number six shirt, a change from his number 12.
Aurelien Tchouameni has also had a change as he has swapped the number 18 for the number 14.
Federico Valverde will now wear the number eight rather than his number 15.
The Uruguayan has inherited the famous shirt from the retiring Toni Kroos.
The number eight has also been worn by legends such as Fernando Gago, Steve McManaman and Kaka.
Turkish sensation Arda Guler wore the number 24 last season but will now have the number 15.
Jesus Vallejo will now have Tchouameni’s old number 18. — Sun.
