Reasons behind Black History Month

Ibo Foroma Rastafarian Perspectives —
THROUGHOUT the divided world demonstrated mainly through slavery and colonialism, Blacks comprise a race of people that has been exposed to tremendous physiological, psychological and spiritual trauma.

Surprisingly black people still support and maintain aftermaths of these acrid smells as evidenced through modern-day slavery, neo-colonialism and the global domination of pungent western ideals over the rest of the world.

One good example is Donald Trump’s uncensored racial comments and perpetual chaos created through the unjustified eviction of Muslims, black and otherwise, from his private property, the United States of America.

Of African-American origin, Black History Month seeks to address the concerns of black people from the Adolf Hitlers and Bennito Mussolinis of this world. Racism and prejudice against black people is a living holocaust demanding combined forces to extinguish.

Racism against blacks is institutionalized. Seen through the alleged curse of Ham or black people consequently, it has been practiced since Biblical times.

In his anger, Peter Tosh said, “It is religion and politics that divide the people.” His words stand true as the world is infinitesimally divided into iron curtains of religion and politics.

In a debate with Stephen Douglas in 1858, the former president of America, Abraham Lincoln said,

“I have no purpose to introduce political and social equality between the white and black races.

There is a physical difference between the two which, in my judgment, will probably forever forbid their living together upon the footing of a perfect equality; and in as much as it becomes a necessity that there must be a difference, I am in favour of the race to which I belong having the superior position.”

Again former president of the same territory, Thomas Jefferson said, “Never yet could I find that a black had uttered a thought above the level of plain narration. Never saw an elementary tract of painting or sculpture.”

Speaking to Stephen Olford in 1940, an American evangelist Billy Graham said, “Stephen, if it weren’t for you wretched Britishers, we wouldn’t have any Negroes in this country anyway; we wouldn’t have this mess.”

Philosopher David Hume says, “I am apt to suspect the Negroes to be naturally inferior to the white.

There never was a civilised nation of any other complexion than white, nor even any individual eminent either in action or speculation. No ingenious manufacturers amongst them, no arts, no sciences.” (Essays and Treaties of Several Subjects, Vol I, London 1753.)

Of course, this ignorant racial comment ignores the fact that the word chemisty comes from alchemy which derives from ‘al-khemi’ as in ‘from-khemit’ meaning–land-of-the-black-soil. All arts, science, religion, governance and civilisation directly derive from Africa, the Motherland.

Even mankind originates from Africa, which is why Peter Tosh sang, “It no matter where you come from, you are an African.” The very first tools were made from Africa, whose ancient name is Ethiopia, as rendered even in the Bible.

However, white supremacist and racist mistaken for a historian, Arnold Tonybee says, “It will be seen that when we classify mankind by colour, the only primary race that has not made a creative contribution is the black race.” (A Study of History, 1934.)

G Cuvier in “Animal Kingdom” wrote, “The Caucasian, to which we ourselves belong, is chiefly distinguished by the beautiful form of the head, which approximates to a perfect oval. From this variety have sprung the most civilised nations, and such as have most generally exercised dominion over the rest of mankind.

“The Negro race is confined to the south of Mount Atlas. Its characteristics are black, woolly hair, and flattish nose.

“In the prominence of the lower part of the face and thickness of the lips, its characteristics manifestly approaches to the monkey tribe. The hordes of which this variety is composed have always remained in a state of complete barbarism.”

In this case, of course, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. However, it is commonly perceived and confirmed by the adage “black is beauty!”

Black is beauty, not white. To say ‘white is beauty’ is an infringement of reality. White people originate from black people.

As recorded in his-story (white man), white people are a result of melanin lose from black parentage and continuous refinement of the results through long periods of exposure to extreme cold conditions during previous ice ages.

Despite though, Professor Charleton Coon wrote, “If Africa is the cradle of mankind, it was only an indifferent kindergarten. Europe and Asia were our principal schools.” (The Origin of Races, University of Pennysylvania.)

This false claim that black people contributed nothing to civilisation is a lie and hence RasTafarians identify the whole plot and scheme appropriately as civi-lie-sation.

Indeed, Africa is the cradle of civilisation and mankind. The oldest remains of modern man were found in Ethiopia.

In November 1981 in an article titled “The Top Paleoanthropologists Square Off”, the Life Magazine stated, “Professor Donald Johnson came upon a human-like creature, in Ethiopia’s Afar Triangle, that lived in Africa some 3,5 million years ago. The creature was called ‘Lucy’.”

On June 11 1982, the New York Times declared, “Ethiopia Bones Called Oldest Ancestor of Man.” The report reads:

“Fossil bones discovered in Ethiopia were reported yesterday to be from the oldest ancestor of man yet known, an ape-man who walked on two feet, had a small brain and lived four million years ago.

The bones were 400 000 years older than the famous ‘Lucy’ skeleton found in 1974. The new fossil discovery was announced by Dr Desmond J Clark and Dr Time D White, anthropologists at the University of California at Berkeley.”

The name Lucy is not short for Lucifer and evolution is not evil. Lucy derives from the Beatles song, “Lucy you are a diamond in the sky” which was playing in the background when the discovery was made.

Evolution is the natural way in which God and Mother Nature created life on Earth.
