PREPARATIONS for the 2025 Zimbabwe Agricultural Show are now at an advanced stage, with 85 percent of exhibitors having already set up their stands.
The 115th edition of this annual event will take place from August 25 to 30 under the theme “Building Bridges: Connecting Agriculture, Industry and Communities.”
To date, 505 exhibitors have confirmed their participation, compared to 480 who had booked during the same period last year.
Zimbabwe Agricultural Society (ZAS) Chief Executive Officer, Mr Rufaro Alfred Gunundu, stated that the area occupied by exhibitors has expanded from 72 363 square metres last year to 79 500 square metres this year.
“The increase in both exhibitors and space reflects the growing enthusiasm and investment in our agricultural sector. We are delighted to see so many organisations committed to showcasing innovation in agriculture,” he said.
Mr Gunundu noted that exhibitors began their preparations on August 1, and so far, an impressive 85 percent have completed setting up their stands.
“It is exciting to witness the transformation of the exhibition area. We are eager to engage with farmers and industry stakeholders,” he said.
ZAS will host its inaugural Golf Tournament this Friday at the Royal Harare Golf Club, aimed at raising financial resources to support key agricultural development programmes.
“This tournament is more than just a game; it serves as a strategic platform to empower the next generation of agribusiness leaders. Proceeds from the tournament will support two vital initiatives: the ZAS Master Farmer Training Programme, which equips farmers with essential skills and confidence-building, and the ZAS Scholarship Programme, which provides financial assistance to students pursuing diplomas in agriculture, horticulture, and animal science.
“Adding to the excitement of the event, the international Backsplit Performance Bikers will deliver high-energy and precision biking displays. Our team is thrilled to present a captivating spectacle at the tournament, aiming to impress the audience with our precision and creativity. This unique blend of sport and agricultural advocacy promises an unforgettable experience for all attendees, highlighting the vibrant future of Zimbabwe’s agricultural community,” he said.
