THE Zimbabwe Red Cross Society has paid tribute to its volunteers and staff for their tireless efforts in alleviating human suffering and promoting dignity.
Speaking at World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day commemorations in Harare, Zimbabwe Red Cross Society national president Mr David Chaliyanika highlighted the need to alleviate human suffering, restore dignity and give hope to those in need.
“The Zimbabwe Red Cross is playing a critical role in upholding the principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality and independence,” he said
“The tireless efforts in responding to disasters, promoting health, and empowering communities are truly commendable and are the embodiment of the Red Cross’s mission to alleviate human suffering and promote dignity for all,” he said
“Our volunteers are the backbone of this organisation and their commitment to serving others is truly inspiring.
“They are the ones who walk the extra mile, who sacrifice their time and comfort to care for the vulnerable and make a real difference in the lives of others.
“The Red Cross’s commitment to upholding the principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and independence is what sets it apart and your work is a testament to the power of compassion, empathy and kindness, and I am honoured to recognise your efforts today.”
