Referee demoted

Paul Munyuki Sports Reporter
REFEREE Judith Chilundu has been demoted from taking charge of any games after poorly handling the game between Vainona Girls and Girls High School.

Vainona went on to win the game 3-0.

Chilundu was surely out of sorts and he officiating skills were exposed on the third day of the Dairibord Schools Rugby Festival at Prince Edward School.

This was one game that the crowd were looking forward to as both sides had dominated play on Monday coming out of thier respective games with wins.

Girls High on Monday beat Roosevelt 22-0 while Vainona Girls demolished George Stark 72-0 in what became the second highest score at the festival so far.

But it was Chilundu who killed the game, her  calls were wrong, decisions went the opposite way and at times restart – instead of kicking off from the centre line – were turned to 22 metre drop outs.

It was not a case of bias on Chilundu’s part, it was clear ignorance.

Girls High School were not happy with the way the game was handled and captain Charlene Manhenga was rightfully upset both with the result and decisions that did not do just to both teams.
