Renowned Baptist Church pastor, Dr Reverend Patrick Moyo has died.

A renowned Gweru clergyman and Baptist Church pastor, Dr Reverend Patrick Face Moyo has died.

He was 74.

Family spokesperson Rev Phanuel Banda confirmed the passing on of Rev Moyo in an interview this afternoon.

“Yes Dr Rev Patrick Face Moyo is no more. He suffered a severe stroke and was rushed to Kensington clinic in Harare before he was transferred to Arundel hospital in Harare where he passed on at 3:50AM on Wednesday,” he said.

Rev Banda said Rev Moyo had close to 50 years in the ministry.

“Rev Moyo led the Baptist Church which is an affiliate of the National Baptist Convention. At one time he served as president of the National Baptist Convention for more than three terms,” he said.

“At the time of his death, he was leading close to 20 Baptist church branches from Chinhoyi, Norton, Chegutu, Kadoma, Kwekwe, Gokwe, Redcliff and Gweru, just to mention a few. He was also serving in the advisory boards of Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe (EFZ) among others.”

Rev Banda said the late clergyman is survived by his wife Mrs Sitheni Noko Moyo, six children and 13 grandchildren.
