What seemed like a harmonious partnership between Chiyedza Cathrine Tekeshe and Charles Moyo, owners of a renowned restaurant in Gimboki, Mutare, took an unexpected turn when Moyo’s involvement in opposition politics came to light.
The restaurant, once known for its delectable cuisine and warm ambiance, became a hub for clandestine political activities, unbeknownst to Tekeshe.

Disturbingly, neighbours reported witnessing numerous unmarked vehicles lingering near Tekeshe’s residence and business, raising concerns for her safety. They expressed their helplessness, unable to assist Tekeshe, who remained oblivious to her partner’s secret life.
As one neighbour aptly put it, “We had noted numerous unmarked vehicles lurking at her house and business, and now we fear for her safety as we also could not assist her, yet she was not even aware of her partner’s activities.”
As authorities investigate Moyo’s disappearance and the allegations surrounding the restaurant’s activities, the spotlight remains on Tekeshe. The once thriving business now stands as a haunting reminder of the consequences when secrets and politics collide.
