Revellers spoilt for choice this Easter

Dendera exponent Sulumani Chimbetu, Peter Moyo and Romeo Gasa will tonight illuminate Holly’s Hotel,  when they go on stage and give revellers an Easter treat, at a concert dubbed “Gentlemen’s Affairs”.
This will be a rare combination by the youthful trio, having gradually built impressive curriculum vitaes in the music sector in the last few years.
The same time that they three will be battling it out at Holly’s, urban groovers — Nox and Maskiri — are expected to rock City Sports Bar.
Those in the know will attest that Alishias Musimbe, aka Maskiri, is a rapper of repute, who kicked off his career with the song “Muridhara Rangu”, when the urban grooves genre literally invaded the scene, a few years back.
Barely a year after announcing himself on the music scene, Maskiri became popular with youths and his songs were receiving heavy rotation on Power FM, in clubs and at parties.
However, at one time, the controversial emcee’s  career took a nosedive, but it appears he is back on the road again, and is currently riding high with his song called “Wenera”.
On the other hand, Nox has continued to popularise his brand of music, which is doing relatively well.
The same venue will tomorrow night play host to Bulawayo-based musician-cum-dancer Sandra Ndebele.
Sandy, as she is known by her fans, will gyrate her way into Sunday morning, in yet another explosive encounter where she is expected to showcase her exploits both with the microphone and yes, on the dance floor.
Yes, you guessed right! Her act is never subdued and she always seem to operate on high energy levels.
For someone who started off as an actress, at Amakhosi Cultural Centre in Bulawayo, Sandra has grown her brand over the years, making her one of the top female artistes in the country.
After Sandra’s show, revelling will continue at the joint, and this time, Tryson Chimbetu will be churning out some dendera beats to chase away the Monday blues.
The beauty about this Easter itinerary is that music fans will be spoilt for choice.
Elsewhere in Harare and its environs, a number of shows will also explode into life during this period.
Mutangaz Nite Club will tonight host a show pitting the granddad of music, Oliver Mtukudzi and Tryson.
Top Channel Drive Inn in Chitungwiza will on Sunday play host to Too Open, a jazz outfit renowned for its classical beat and afro-jazz fusion.
The joint that was opened a few weeks ago, has become a hot entertainment spot in the satellite town.
