The hosts had raced to a two-goal lead courtesy of goals from Charles Makoto and Nhamo Lameck.
However, a lapse in concentration saw the veteran forward Marufu scoring in the second period before Lot Chiunga grabbed the equaliser.
It was back to the drawing board for Gishon Ntini and his charges after failing to pick maximum points at home when a victory had looked secure by half-time.
Ntini said poor defending cost them three points and was not amused by the way his charges performed in the second half.
Rhinos assistant coach, Ndega Matsika, hailed his players for a strong fight in the second period and said a point away from home was important as they scrounge for points in the second half of the Premiership season.
