CHAMPIONS FC Platinum hopes of a fifth successive Castle Lager Premiership title suffered a huge knock when they lost 1-2 for the second time in a week, this time to Black Rhinos at Mandava.
At the weekend FC Platinum lost at ZPC Kariba.
The platinum boys were in control of the game at the beginning with a flawless passing game but the visitors went into the lead in the 20th minute through Lot Chiwunga.
With FC Platinum desperately trying to claw back into the game, Chiwunga completed a brace, coming to the end of a Kuda Nyakudanga through ball in the 34th minute.
Sensing defeat, FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza made a double substitution in the 46th minute bringing in promising Jarrison Selemani and Hagiazo Magaya for Panashe Mutimbanyoka and Innocent Mucheneka.
The home team had a chance to pull one back in the 50th minute but wasted a freekick at the edge of the box but made amends in the 53rd minute with a Gift Bello goal that sent the home crowd into a frenzy.
However, Black Rhinos held on for three points that keep their survival hopes alive.
