RHINOS have taken charge of their 2022/23 Logan Cup first class competition match against Eagles at Kwekwe Sports Club, ending the second day leading by 283 runs.
Scoring a huge 383 all out in the first innings, having bowled out their opponents Eagles for just 92 runs on day one, Rhinos are looking at an innings victory with day two ending with Eagles batting on 8-1 and trailing by 283 runs.
Debutant Antum Amir Naqvi scored his maiden first class ton for Rhinos as he finished unbeaten on a patient 140 runs off 232 deliveries.

Naqvi was supported Brandon Mavuta who fell 20 runs short of a hundred off 92 deliveries. The other Rhinos batsman who fell short of a milestone was Johnathan Campbell who scored 46 runs, just four runs away from a half ton.
With ball in hand for the log leaders, Eagles who are yet to taste defeat this season, off spinner Tapiwa Mufudza was the highlight taking four wickets for 106 runs in 38.5 overs. Tanaka Chivanga picked up two scalps while Faraz Akram, Kudzai Maunze, Tadiwanashe Nyangani and Alex Falao all took one wicket each.
Rhinos managed to take control of the match by striking early into Eagles’ second innings leaving them reeling at 8-1 at stumps. Leg spinner Mavuta took the wicket of Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, trapping him leg before wicket (lbw) for just one run.
Meanwhile at Old Hararians, in the clash between Mega Market Mountaineers and Southern Rocks, no ball was played on day two due to a wet outfield.
Mountaineers remain on 96-4 in the 24 overs that have only been managed to be played across two days. – @brandon_malvin
