THE floodgates have opened for Rhumba artistes as they have started releasing their 2022 productions ahead of the upcoming festive season.
Some have already launched their new offerings with the hope that come December, the albums would have gained them enough traction to get bookings. Others have begun promoting their forthcoming albums and singles.
Among those who have launched their albums are Dubia Masters who were involved in a triple CD launch that featured Dupute Warriors and Ezinkulu ZeKezi last week. So far, the albums have received good reviews.
Mxolisi “Mr Bones” Ndlovu is promoting his eighth album titled Uvukile Umalambane. It is set to be launched on October 1 at the Hilbrow Theatre in Johannesburg. Mr Bones said after the Johannesburg launch, he will take the album to Cape Town and Botswana before bringing it to Bulawayo.
Insimbi Zezhwane manager, Bahlanu Sibanda said they are preparing to release their album, Zibuyihlazane, on November 6.
“We’re putting final touches to our album and promise fans that it’ll be a hot one as usual. Fans will love what we’re preparing for them,” Sibanda said.
Dance King Mandlenkosi “Godolude” Mpofu and his band, Eze Energy said they will launch their offering on October 29.
“The album titled Target will be launched in South Africa. Fans should expect a polished album as we have taken our time working on it. It has seven tracks,” Godolude said.
Tsheba Boys said he will release his 11th album titled Makungahlangani Yeka on October 29 at the Hilbrow Theatre. The album launch is set to feature Rhumba legend Themba “Boyoyo” Mathe.
“Fans should get new dancing shoes because the album is hot. I know that they’ll fall in love with what we’ve prepared for them. This is my 13th album and all my experience will show in this album,” Boyoyo said.
Axe-wielding Madlela is not being left out as he said he will release two Rhumba tracks early next month. He said with the two singles, he is targeting to widen his market.
“The titles for the singles are Mama and Makoti which will be accompanied by a video,” said Madlela. – @themkhust
