THREE robbers attacked and killed a security guard at a complex, which is under construction in Msasa, Harare before stealing US$95 and four cellphones.
The security guard has been identified as Elliot Mudzingwa (32).
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.
“The ZRP is appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of a case of murder and robbery, which occurred at a complex under construction along Hillside Road Extension, Msasa, Harare on July 16, 2024.
“Three unknown suspects entered the complex through an unlocked gate and attacked six complainants and the security guard, Elliot Mudzingwa aged 32, with logs and steel bars.
“The suspects stole US$95 and four cellphones before fleeing in their getaway car. The security guard succumbed to the injuries sustained during the attack. Anyone with information to report at any nearest police station,” he said.
Meanwhille, police in Penhalonga are appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of a case of robbery which occurred at Mberi Village, Mutasa on July 8, 2024.
Five unknown suspects attacked three complainants with machetes before stealing US$15 000, 20 grammes of gold and various clothes. The suspects fled the scene using one of the complainants’ car, a white Nissan Serena vehicle registration number AFY 4673.
The vehicle was loaded with 10x50kg of maize. Police said the complainants sustained varying injuries and were referred to hospital for treatment.
