Rock The Country wins

ROCK The Country won the $9 500 Breeders Champions Cup, run over 2 000m at Borrowdale Park on Sunday. Trained by Gokhan Terzi and with apprentice Wesley Marwing in control, the Western Winter gelding romped to victory. He is owned by G. Goksel, K. Monien and S. Osman and Gengiz Goksel who were there to accept the trophy from Jackie Cocksedge of the Zimbabwe Thoroughbred Breeders Association.

Rock The Country won the race by 3.00 lengths in a competitive race which saw 12 runners taking to the starting stalls.

Seasoned campaigner Orbit War was second.

The race saw Captain’s Tiger withdrawn at the start by the course veterinary surgeon.
