URBAN grooves muso, Rockford “Roki” Josphats says he still loves songstress Ammara Brown, describing their split early this year as heartbreaking.

In February, Brown shocked many followers when she broke the news of their break up on her Facebook fan page. After dating for a few months, Roki last year proposed to Brown to marry him, a proposal she declined.

“I loved Ammara very much and she loved me as well. Our greatest challenge was we were two of the same, both artistes. We clashed regularly, something which I think led to the break up,” said Roki.

The father of six said he was still nursing a heart-break as he is emotional about the failed relationship.

“Ammara broke my heart. I still love her as she means a lot to me. I don’t talk much about our separation as I don’t want to say something that’ll hurt her.”

Turning to his career, Roki, a former Big Brother Africa housemate said he was working on getting his music videos played on international music channels such as Channel O and MTV Base.

With a new hit single, Alleluya, making waves on radio stations and YouTube, Roki believes local artistes have what it takes to break into the international music market.

He said: “Zimbabweans are needed on the international market as we’ve been missing for a very long time. Showbiz is a multi-billion dollar business and we should look international with our acts. Jamaica is a small country but they sell their music to an international market, the same should be done by us Zimbabweans.”

He expressed gratitude to his record label, Kenako Muzik who he said were promoting his music well.

“Kenako Muzik is managing my career well as they’re connecting me with other African artistes for collaborations,” said Roki.
