Newly crowned Miss Universe Zimbabwe, Roseanna Hall, says her victory is dedicated to every girl who has ever doubted her worth.

Hall was crowned Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2026 at a glittering pageant held in Harare on Saturday evening, earning the right to represent the country at the Miss Universe competition in Puerto Rico later this year.

Reflecting on her journey, the Shurugwi-born beauty queen said her triumph carries a message of hope and empowerment for young women across the country.

“Just a girl from a small town called Shurugwi. To all the girls that have ever felt like they are not enough, this one is for us. This isn’t about me. It’s about every Zimbabwean who deserves to feel seen, valued and have our story reflected on the global stage,” wrote the beauty queen.

Hall said her focus has now shifted to her reign and the responsibility of representing Zimbabwe on the international stage.

She added that her mission goes beyond competing for a crown and is centred on showcasing the country’s rich culture, resilience and potential to the world.

“This Bible verse carried me through this journey — Isaiah 62:3: ‘You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, a royal diadem in the hand of your God,’ and His word came true. Thank you Jesus.”

Coincidentally, the question that ultimately helped determine Hall’s fate in the competition centred on how she would handle trending online. Asked by the judges what she would do if she found herself at the centre of online attention, Hall replied that she simply would not respond.

True to her word, just hours after being crowned Miss Universe Zimbabwe, Hall found herself trending on social media, with some critics questioning her victory because she had served as a judge at the same pageant the previous year.

Yet, rather than engaging with the criticism, she stayed faithful to the answer that had impressed the judges – she responded to the naysayers by not responding at all.
