REIGNING Mr Strongest Man, Munyaradzi Runganga says he is ready for next weekend’s nationals at Harare Sports Club.
The hulk admits competition at this year’s event will tougher than the previous edition but remains confident of his abilities.
“The competition has grown stiffer because this is now a national competition but I am preparing hard for the event,” he said.
Event organiser Henry Bindu said the winner would walk away with US$1 000 and other prizes.
“Registration is in progress, we are expecting more participants this year and we are glad with the support we are getting from the sponsors.
“This year we want to make it more exciting, we want them to pull a tipper or a bus. We have also included the ladies fitness challenge on this year’s programme and we will have 10 teams competing in various challenges,” he said.
Bindu said the ultimate aim was to take locals to international competitions.
“However, for that to happen we need to have support from food suppliers because this sport requires someone to follow a strict diet – you need a lot of bodybuilding food.
“So what we are doing is looking at how we can partner some food and beverages suppliers; it’s work in progress,” he said.
