THE family of the late Sekuru Tinos Jesmiel Rushwaya has expressed gratitude to President Mnangagwa, First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa, the Vice Presidents, Government officials and Zimbabweans from all walks of life for the support and condolences received following his death.
In a statement, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Martin Rushwaya, speaking on behalf of the family, thanked individuals and institutions that offered assistance during the family’s bereavement.
“On behalf of my family, my relatives and myself, I wish to convey our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the overwhelming messages of condolence, support and solidarity extended to us following the passing of our beloved father, Mr Tinos Jesmiel Rushwaya,” he said.
The family acknowledged the attendance and support of President Mnangagwa and the First Lady, the Vice Presidents, Cabinet ministers, senior Government officials, members of the security services, traditional leaders, church representatives and members of the public during the funeral.
Sekuru Rushwaya was accorded Provincial Hero status in recognition of his contribution to the country before being laid to rest with official honours.
Dr Rushwaya said the support received from across the country reflected the spirit of unity and Ubuntu, adding that the family was grateful to all those who contributed towards the funeral arrangements, travelled to attend the burial or sent messages of condolence.
“The love, prayers and acts of kindness shown to us are a true reflection of the spirit of Ubuntu and unity that bind us together as a nation,” he said.
Dr Rushwaya also thanked Government departments, friends and well-wishers for their assistance and concluded by praying for the country’s leadership.
“May the Almighty God continue to bless and guide His Excellency the President, the First Lady, the Vice Presidents and our entire nation,” he said.
