Russians being buried alive to ‘cure their fear of death’

There is a school of thought which says in order to overcome a phobia, it’s best to face your fears.

But a dubious new therapy which has emerged in Russia takes this doctrine to the extreme — by BURYING people alive to cure their fear of death.

Mortals in Moscow have reportedly been queueing up to try the quack treatment, which sees participants dig their own grave and lie in a coffin underground for an unspecified period of time.

And they are “coffin” up 3 000 rubles a time for the “pleasure”, which, at roughly £35, is a small fortune for many in Russia.

Sergey Volkov, who devised the harrowing holistic sessions, told Russian media experiencing the sensation of being six feet under also helped people overcome claustrophiobia.

But others have raised concerns about the strange new fad, and even made a complaint to police.

One woman who considered using the service said she was shocked to discover Volkov is not a doctor or a licensed professional, and that his methods were purely amateur.

She also complained about the fact photos of the procedure were made public, breaching patient confidentiality.

Neither were there any medical professionals at hand in case something went wrong during the funereal therapy.

While Volkov is presumably enjoying his new found wealth, hopefully he realises he can’t take it with him. — Yahoo.
