SA coaches for Falcon College tournament

SOUTH African coaches from the Investec International Rugby Academy in Durban arrive in the country on Tuesday to impart their expertise to local youngsters during the three-day Under-14 schools tournament at Falcon College in Esigodini.
The tournament runs from Wednesday to Friday. According to tournament organiser Orlando Fernandes, the South Africans will conduct sessions in the morning while matches will be played in the afternoon throughout the three days.
Former Super Rugby star Jacques Botes, ex-Uganda national team coach Joe Beukes, Braam van Straatan, a 21 times capped Springbok flyhalf as well as Investec Rugby Academy South Africa general manager Greg Miller are going to hand out expert coaching to up-and-coming talent over a three-day period.
Eight teams are participating in the tournament, these being Hellenic, Falcon College, Heritage, Lomagundi, Gateway, Christian Brothers College and Midlands Christian College while an invitation has been extended to the Western Suburbs who will send a select team to replace Petra who could not make it.
“Coaches from the Investec Rugby Academy in South African arrive on Tuesday and leave on Friday. The matches are taking place on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The South African coaches will conduct coaching sessions for all the youngsters in the mornings and matches take place in the afternoon,’’ said Fernandes.
Sponsorship for the inaugural event has been secured from AMG Global, a chartered accountant firm who came up with a generous monetary contribution and will also provide T-shirts and caps to all the players.
