A South African farmer and his two employees have been arrested after police found two bodies, one of them believed to be of a Zimbabwean, dumped in a pigsty in the Mankweng area.

Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malasela Ledwaba identified the suspects as farmer Zachariah Olivier (60) and his two employees Adriaan De Wet (19) and a Zimbabwean William Musoro (45).

He said the trio appeared at the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court facing two murder charges, an attempted murder charge.

They were also charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition as well as defeating the ends of justice.

Musoro was separately charged with contravening South Africa’s Immigration Act as he is alleged to be an illegal immigrant.

“The matter was postponed to 30 August for a formal bail application. The suspects were arrested after the discovery of two decomposed women’s bodies in a pigsty on a farm in Sebayeng, outside Mankweng, on August 20,” said Col Ledwaba.

“The arrests followed a thorough investigation by the Provincial Tracking Team and the Murder and Robbery Unit.

“The investigation began when a 45-year-old South African woman went missing after visiting the farm on August 17, accompanied by a 35-year-old female foreign national.”

He said the bodies of both women had gunshot wounds, and a 47-year-old male foreign national who was with them was also shot and hospitalised.

Col Ledwaba said investigations were continuing.
