TOP South African socialites and artistes are expected to grace SA-based Zimbabwean businessman and socialite – Genius Kadungure’s birthday bash tomorrow.
The birthday party, taking place in South Africa’s affluent Sandton area, is expected to feature Boity, Nadia Nakai, AKA, Nomuzi Mabhena, DJ Clive, Blue Mbombo,Maps Maponyane and David Tlale among many other renowned names.
Speaking from his SA base, Kadungure, popularly known as Ginimbi, said his 32nd birthday party was meant to unite people.
Like his previous parties, the celebrations – co-sponsored by Moet & Chandon, Veuve Cliquot and Hennessy – will be an All-White affair.
“All is set for the party and I’m now looking forward to hosting friends, family and business associates.
“For me, this event is not just about partying, but it’s more about uniting people as it will see people from different countries coming together under one roof, just to celebrate life and be merry,” said Ginimbi.
Taking things to another level, the party, which was featured on DStv platforms last year, will once again be covered by international entertainment channels – Vuzu and BET among others.
An after-party will be held tomorrow evening at Harem night club where more celebrities are expected to converge.
The businessman and party freak, who is the founder and chief executive officer of Pioneer Gases which is under Piko Trading, said he was in the process of mentoring youths who aspire to be successful.
“Though I can’t reveal their names yet, I’m working with a number of people who I’m mentoring to realise their goals.
“I’ve invested in these people so they move to the next step.
“As I reflect on my 32 years on earth, I can’t quite say I’ve reached my goals as I’m always challenging myself to achieve bigger things.”
To give back to the community, Genius, who has a fleet of top-of-the-range vehicles and a plush mansion in Domboshava, said he was planning to build schools.
For the past five years, Ginimbi has been throwing lavish birthday parties in Harare, Botswana and South Africa, often hiring private jets for his friends to travel in style — @maffarro.
