Sables begin preps for Namibia

THE Zimbabwe Sables are expected to get back to business ahead of the Africa Cup A1 match fixture against Namibia in Windhoek next month.

Director of Rugby, Brighton Chivandire, said it was important for the Sables to have begin preparations early for the decisive match.

Chivandire said he was concerned with the Sables’ lack of ball possession and wants them to work on this aspect of their game ahead of the winner-take-all battle.

The Sables defeated Tunisia 19-8 in an Africa Cup Group A1 match at Prince Edward on Saturday and a win in Windhoek will see them emerge triumphant in the competition.

“From my own perspective it was good that the team won but we could have done better,” said Chivandire.

“We lost possession and made other unnecessary mistakes.

“If we had played well we could have won by a bigger score but we’re glad we won and now it is important to get back to business.

“The team has to stay together and we can only be a better side if the boys stay intact. We have called the team to get back onto the field this week.”

The Sables are expected to start training tomorrow at Prince Edward School at 5:30PM.
