Sadomba was on target on Friday night, albeit in a losing cause, when Al-Hilal lost 1-2 to Nigeria’s Enyimba in Omdurman in a Champions League Group A match.
The victory saw former champions Enyimba becoming the first team to reach the semi-finals of the 2011 Orange Caf Champions league.
Sadomba’s team will have to sweat it out and win the last group match against Raja Casablanca of Morocco next weekend if they still fancy any hopes of progressing to the last four. Enyimba will wrap up their campaign at the group phase against Cotonsport of Cameroon on September 18 at the Enyimba International Stadium.
The Warriors striker, who seems to reserve his best form for his club, scored as early as the fourth minute from close range to give the Sudanese giants the lead.
But Enyimba’s Valentine Nwabil and Samuel Tswania scored in a come-from-behind victory for maximum points.
Al-Hilal started the game on a positive note, pinning Enyimba in their half.
Their early pressure yielded dividends after four minutes when Sadomba scored the opener from close range.
The Al-Hilal midfield pair Haitham Mostafa and Ibrahim Toure were a constant threat for the visitors leading to several raids into their area. The Nigerians improved in the second half and gradually made inroads.
On 64 minutes, Al-Hilal captain Mostafa wasted a golden opportunity to double the lead, when he surprisingly shot wide with only the Enyimba goalie at his mercy.
Three minutes later, Nwabil equalised for Enyimba from a well-taken free-kick that beat goalie Moez Mahjoub.
On the 90th minute mark, Enyimba were awarded a penalty after Uche Kalu was fouled in the penalty area. And Tswania made sure from the spot kick – Cafonline/Sports reporter.
