POLICE will soon release further details on the midmorning armed robbery case at Sai Mart Supermarket yesterday as it has emerged that a security guard at the shop is also a victim after he allegedly lost US$70 to the robbers.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said investigations were underway and would be releasing further details in due course.

“We are investigating that incident, we will be releasing further information in due course,” said Comm Nyathi.
The robbers, believed to be three, struck before 10am yesterday, fired a single shot that bounced off a horizontal pillar inside the shop before walking away with cash.

A worker at the shop told Zimpapers that a security guard who was on duty became a victim after the robbers searched him and took away his wallet that had his particulars and US$70.

Despite the Bulawayo experiencing sporadic robbery attacks, police have been up to the task, accounting for a number of cases.
