THE 26TH edition of the exciting Sakupwanya Tournament, which was supposed to roll into life this weekend, has been postponed to August 1 due to the current absence of the main sponsors of the competition.
Preparations for the annual Sakupwanya Tournament are almost complete with participants in football and netball expected to battle for supremacy at its usual venue – St Mathias Tsonzo grounds.
Started by the late water resources strategist, Dr Jeftar Sakupwanya in 1997, with only three schools – St Matthias Tsonzo High, Pafiwa Mutasa High and Vumbunu Secondary, the tournament now encompasses the whole of Mutasa district schools.
19 schools are expected to participate.
