HONG KONG. — Jurgen Klopp has no doubt Mohamed Salah will shine at Liverpool – having been certain of the Egyptian’s quality ever since he left him asking “what the f***”.
Salah joined Liverpool from Roma last month in a club-record deal, for an initial £36.9million. It comes after the winger had flourished in Italian football, first with Fiorentina then the Giallorossi, following an ill-fated stint at Chelsea. Salah made just 19 appearances as he failed to make his mark with the Blues, in a move that Klopp reckons came “too early” for a player who had initially broken onto the European scene with Swiss club Basel.
“A lot of players have shown it is quite easy to struggle at Chelsea, [Kevin] De Bruyne is one,” Klopp said. “The only thing that we really ignored was what he did at Chelsea.
“He is a left footed player and we don’t have too many of them in the team. It all makes him really valuable for us. — AFP.
