Salesman steals Tvs from company’s warehouse

A 27-year-old TV Sales & Home employee broke into the company’s warehouse in Chinhoyi and stole televisions and sold them to people has appeared in court.

In a statement the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said Valentine Nashvale Kamuriwo was arraigned to the Chinhoyi Magistrates’ Court for the charges of theft between March and May 6, 2024.

“Valentine Nashvale Kamuriwo was allegedly entrusted with the responsibility of dispatching products from the shop and warehouse to customers, exploited his position and perpetrated a series of theft.

“On multiple occasions, while on duty, the accused person allegedly unlawfully gained access to the TV Sales warehouse room and misappropriated various television sets, specifically: two 43-inch LG TV sets, two 32-inch Sharp TV sets, four 42-inch Sharp TVs and two 32-inch Tornado TVs. These items were subsequently sold to various people around Chinhoyi,” said the NPAZ.

Kamuriwo, the NPAZ said was nabbed after a stock take.

“A comprehensive stock take conducted by TV Sales management on the 27th of May 2024 revealed a discrepancy of 10 television sets, prompting an investigation into the accused person’s activities”.

Kamuriwo was remanded to June 4 for sentencing after pleading guilty.
