LONDON. — Alexis Sanchez is ready to accept Arsenal’s hardline stance and see out the final year of his contract.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has insisted that he has the backing of the club’s board to force Sanchez to stay despite risking losing him for nothing when his deal expires next summer.
But Sanchez is dropping hints to his teammates and friends that he is now resigned to staying and leaving as a free agent when he is likely to get an even more lucrative contract.
Paris Saint Germain’s record breaking £200m move for Neymar appears to have ended the French club’s realistic chance of getting Sanchez.
Arsenal have made it clear they will not sell to Manchester City or any other Premier League rival and that has shut down Sanchez’s options.
Bayern Munich were keen but were put off by Sanchez’s demands as his advisers have been asking for £400 000-a-week.
But it may mean that Arsenal do business on another striker with Everton still keen on Olivier Giroud, although Wenger is desperate for him to stay. — The Mirror.
