A WOMAN who consulted a sangoma . seeking treatment for an STI was raped by the medicine man who used protection fearing infection.
Circumstances are that the rogue healer invited his 18-year-old patient into his surgery at Mbizo 1 suburb in Kwekwe where he smeared the would-be victima��s body with traditional medicine. The fumes from the herbs were too strong leading to the victim passing out.
The medicine man went on to have sex with the victim. Two hours later, the victim woke up naked and sleeping on the healera��s mattress.
The medicine man miscalculated her a�?wake upa�? time. When she gained consciousness she realised that the medicine man was wearing a condom.
Upon asking what had transpired in her sense of absence, the healer said he had administered a cue on her.
She then woke up, got dressed, paid and left. On her way home she felt cramps on her abdomen and so suspected she had been raped.
She then reported the matter to the police leading to his arrest.
Gokwe Resident Magistrate Christopher Maturure remanded the healer in custody.
