Urban grooves musician Sanii Makhalima is set to headline this year’s edition of Zimbabwe Afro and Sleek Hair Show to be held at the Harare Show grounds starting today.

The hair show will be running for the second time after being launched last year at the Harare International Conference Centre.

In an interview, one of the organisers of the event Kudakwashe Mupawose said all is set for the hair expo which is promising to be bigger and better this year since it will be running for three days.

“Everything is now in place and there is going to be lot of entertainment and a number of artistes are set to perform since this year the expo will be running for three days,” she said.

She highlighted that there is going to be poetry and dance at the expo.

“This year we are not going to only have musicians performing but we also have a number of poets and dancers since we are looking forward to a diverse audience,” she said.

Mupawose said South African popular hairdresser Roki is set to be the guest celebrity and will be doing free hair doers to luck patrons.

“The main purpose of the show is for people to understand the cosmetology business, how it is affected by policy issue for formal market while it’s informal among other issues,” she said.

“The competition will culminate in an awards dinner on November 28 at the Andy Miller Hall, where the winner will be announced. Last year the first prize was a car. There are lots of prizes to be won and we are still finalising on the first prize,” said Mupawose.

With the goal to promote and educate the beauty practitioners and public on the best practices of the industry, given the state of affairs in the cosmetology sector, the ZASH 2015 organisers have pulled in big brands as partners for the event.
