AS the Northern Region Division One Soccer league enters week eight tomorrow, Cranborne Bullets coach Nesbert Saruchera says his men have made good progress in their campaign so far.
Cranborne are yet to lose a match.
They have collected maximum points in four of their seven games and drew three.
Saruchera believes their campaign in on track as they seek to maintain their spot in the Northern Region Division One.
“We are in the right direction. We are just playing to make sure we survive and we are happy with the progress so far.
“It’s a young team that was promoted from Division Two, so we are not under pressure. The players are fighting hard, they are doing well and we are happy so far.
“It’s never easy in the Northern Region. It’s always tough, there are no small teams and no easy games,” said Saruchera. The newboys, who are occupying top spot, host Darwin at Commando tomorrow and Saruchera said they were expecting nothing less than a win.
“We are playing at home, we just need to collect maximum points and we want to use the home advantage.
“Our approach to every game is that we attack. So it’s not a secret that we are going to attack.
“It’s too early to talk about who is leading. So we are just concerned with our progress,” said Saruchera.
Both Cranborne and Darwin won their last matches and will be out to continue with their good run when they lock horns tomorrow at Commando.
Second-placed Gunners take on Black Rhinos at Rufaro in what promises to be an interesting encounter as both teams are seasoned campaigners.
Rhinos coach, Stanford “Stix” Mtizwa, said they were ready for that showdown.
“We are looking forward to that game. Our objective is we want to win the game. We are taking each game as it comes.
“The competition is very tough, each game is very tough, and same applies to this one against Gunners. We are not going to take it lightly, they are just as good as any other team we play. But our focus is want to win,” said Mtizwa.
The match is scheduled for 12pm to pave way for the Premier League match between CAPS United and ZPC Kariba later in the day. Gunners are now CAPS United’s feeder club.
