Bulawayo is gearing up for the Supermed Health Expo 2025, scheduled for Saturday, May 3, at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre (ZIEC) grounds. This third edition of the expo aims to promote community health awareness through a blend of wellness activities and entertainment.
The event will feature free health screenings, including blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol checks, alongside fitness sessions like Zumba and aerobics.

By public demand, South African fitness trainer Nkululeko Zane Dlamini, popularly known as the “King of Squats” will be returning to lead some of these sessions, supported by local trainers from gyms such as Barberton and Beast Bae. He is expected in the city on Thursday.
There will also be entertainment provided by renowned DJs Mzoe, Nospa, and Eugy, as well as live performances from The Travellers Band. The event will also include motivational talks from life coach Marilyn and business insights from Arthur Evans.

Supermed’s marketing manager, Alleta Nyathi, said the expo serves as a gesture of gratitude to the Bulawayo community for their support over the years. She highlighted the event’s focus on mental health awareness and its role in addressing social issues like drug and substance abuse.
“The event is open to everyone and serves as a celebration of life, while also emphasising the importance of maintaining healthy practices. This is particularly significant given the rising social challenges affecting our community, such as drug and substance abuse and the often-overlooked issue of mental health struggles.”
Last year’s expo held at the same venue had a significant increase in attendance and activities. The event attracted over 2 000 participants, surpassing the previous year’s turnout of approximately 500 attendees at Busters Sports Club. – Follow on X: @mthabisi_mthire
