SA’s wanted criminals to grace billboards

yesterday.
Responding to a written question in the National Assembly by the DA’s Kenneth Mubu, he said the SA Police Service planned to put the faces of wanted people on billboards, television, and news- papers.

Asked how many billboards would be contracted per city and which newspapers would be used, Mthethwa said that at this stage the SAPS was not in a position to “break it down as required by Parlia-ment”.
The breakdown would be available only after receipt of the proposal for media bulk buying from the government communications and information system.

“The billboards will be updated as and when it is necessary.
“Information that will be provided for each newspaper will be updated as well when it becomes necessary,” he said. – Sapa.
