Scarves: New fashion trend

A FASHION revolution has continuously transcended in circular motion with fashion trends unendingly changing over the years; having moved from the bell-bottom to platform shoes and later summer shirts and the all so famous “sandak” style. Some have merely evolved with time and have been continually modified by designers over a protracted period of time. The figure belt has found itself back on the fashion scene alongside animal prints and bright neon colours that were famous in the 70s.

Now, fashion trends emanating from the 70s and 80s are referred to as vintage, but remain very fashionable and are embraced by many open-minded women. They are merely fashion trends that have made their way back to the market, with a fresh twist.

Pumps, skinny jeans, hipsters and leggings equally once sold like hot cakes as every Jane and Jill got onto the bandwagon of these styles.
Fashion trends, like culture continue to change with time – no one can really keep up otherwise they’ll become a slave of fashion! Fresh trends continue to filter through; beads, bright coloured lipsticks, floral tights and scarfs, which have become the latest accessory for that perfect million dollar look.

If you thought scarves were only for chilly days – think again! A scarf is the perfect add-on in warmer days too, when outfits call not for coziness, but for the oomph of an outfit.
Scarves seem to be the most popular fashion trend at the moment, particularly, the bright coloured printed ones.

To complete an outfit with a fabulous touch, wrap yourself up against the winter cold – or in the name of fashion with a stylish scarf.
A scarf is without a doubt one of the simplest yet a chic accessory. We often think of European women wearing them with panache while making an effortless and elegant fashion statement, but actually, a scarf is a special finishing touch across the globe.

It can also stand as the focal point of an outfit, like pairing a colourful scarf with an all-black or white outfit.
Scores of smart, elegant and stylish women have worn scarves with certain aplomb.

Famous American actress Diane Keaton is almost as well known for a loosely tied scarf around her (rarely seen) neck as for her lovably quirky characters.
Interestingly, the neck area is a sensitive subject for many women. In the words of Nora Ephron: “Our faces are lies and our necks are the truth”.

When you’re talking neckwear, perhaps the best example is wearing collars straight up — another good method of camouflage — and artfully draping long scarves and shawls around the shoulders.

The origin of scarves can be traced back to ancient Rome, where they were not used as fashion accessories but as “sweat cloths” to wipe sweat from the face and neck in hot weather.
So, go ahead and experiment! Twist, tie, loop and drape to your heart’s and neck’s content.
