A BUS conductor who sent some scary WhatsApp photographs to his inspector, whose investigation led to his suspension from work, has been convicted of cyberbullying.

The WhatsApp photographs included a person holding a stone, a catapult and a knife.

Judah Chitongo (39), who is employed by Hwenjez Tours, appeared before Rusape magistrate, Barbra Mateko, and was charge with cyberbullying and harassment.

He was not represented and pleaded guilty to the allegations of intimidating, harassing and threatening his inspector Givemore Tsenzere.

Magistrate Mateko ordered him to pay a fine of US$200 or he would serve 60 days in prison.

Appearing for the State, prosecutor Faith Mutukwa told the court that the scary messages were sent in August. “On August 13, 2025, at around 5.55pm and along the Headlands-Chiendambuya Road, Chitungo sent photos which included a person holding a stone, a person holding catapults and a person holding a knife from his mobile phone number 0777807345 on WhatsApp platform to Tsenzere’s mobile phone number.

“The accused person sent those images to the complainant’s WhatsApp platform following an altercation between the two after the accused person was suspended from work after he was found by the complainant with luggage without receipts in the bus.

“Accused person instilled fear to the complainant.”
