School gets 10 computers

the Presidential Computerisation Programme, which started a few years ago.
Director Army Education Corps, Colonel Eneas Hungwe, handed over the computers to Inkomo High School on Tuesday.
The school now has 18 computers following the donation.
It had already received eight computers under President Muga-be’s computer scheme.

“In my capacity as director army education, my duty is to make sure that schools across the country have enough learning requirements.
“I am prepared to work with my partners from the ministry of Education, Sport, Arts and Culture in an effort to provide necessary educational requirements” he said.

Col Hungwe urged the school authorities to provide proper computer maintenance for them to last longer.
He said it was high time every child got access to a computer to keep abreast with the digital technological world.

“The world is moving forward in terms of technology, gone are the days when we used to depend on writing letters.
“Nowadays we are using the Internet to send letters, so, it is vital that children get exposed to computers so that when they get employed they will not get amused when they come across a computer,” he said.

Inkomo High School headmaster Mr Abnel Makaripe, commended the gesture saying it would go a long way to benefit the school as computers were now a critical requirement in today’s learning.
Mr Makaripe appealed for the provision of Internet facilities for the school to be able to access information and other educational material.

Meanwhile, chairman of the trust and Zanu-PF Politburo member Cde Sikhanyiso Ndlovu donated 30 computers to Magunje High School a month ago.
